But ye...I have not studied the Vedas and Upnishads. But yes the extract above is a Vedic Abstract indeed.

I have studied Devi Bhagwavt Puran and it says both.
It says in its Devi Geeta Part that Devi is the Supreme of all
and the other part of the same Puran says that Krishna is the Supreme.
It even considers Vishnu to be a part of Krishna, opposite to the common belief that Krishna is an Avtar of Vishnu.

Basically the reading of scriptures tell me that, Purans etc talk about different deities to be the Supreme. If you read Aditya Hridya Stotra, it says that Sun god is Shiva, Vishnu, asht vasu etc etc. It talks about the supremacy of Sun.

The Geeta Saar of all this is that, there is One Supreme Being which manifests itself in uncountable forms. Our Puranas talk about the supremacy of the 5 Panch maha Devtas: Ganapati, Surya, Shiva , vishnu and Devi.

The reason behind this is to establish firm Faith in the Isht Devta of the person

In Devi Geeta, Devi says that, I am the formless aspect, I am neither a female nor a male nor an Eunuch. I do not have any form, yet for to create, maintain and destroy the Universe I take up many forms. All forms are In me and I am in all forms. Do not differentiate.

So You can treat your Favorite deity as the Supreme Entity and along with that always respect the other forms of God.

The key is Faith not the form

--- Paritosh BhallaExplorerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06689045699550480866noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3693913747377750263.post-47847689817289111382011-04-05T22:32:48.134+05:302011-04-05T22:32:48.134+05:30But Vedas & Upanishads clearly says that say t...But Vedas & Upanishads clearly says that say that Vishnu/Krishna is the Supreme God.

Devi is one of the energy of Lord Krishna.Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01471045704525581773noreply@blogger.com
